It's been awhile...

We're alive!

It's official: I'm the worst blogger out there. I've used my camera's poor battery life as an excuse to take fewer pictures, then used the fewer pictures as an excuse not to blog!

In case you were wondering, yes, we had a great Christmas and a happy new year. Soon after, however, we were pummeled with several blizzards and freezing temperatures to make January quite miserable. I actually only made in one week into January before deciding I couldn't take it anymore and bought a ticket to Georgia to visit my mom and dad for two weeks. I'm here now. Tomorrow Peyton and I leave to go home. I'll certainly miss the 60 degree weather and the wonderful company (especially since they love to get up at 6am every morning with Peyton! I haven't had this much sleep since before he was born!) It's been a much-needed break, to say the least. But I am excited to get home and see Scott. We miss him very much!

In other news, Peyton is growing up into a big boy and is now officially weaned as of 8 days ago. I'm a free woman! He has made the transition to exclusively using sippy cups very well. I was really worried that he would never fall asleep again, but he actually has no trouble at all getting to sleep without nursing. What a relief. He has become much more interested in food and now enjoys stuffing as much food into his mouth as possible when I'm not looking. I have to watch him carefully and slow him down when he gets a hold of something he likes like bananans or animal crackers. I'm having so much fun taking care of him and watching him learn, change, and grow.

We're still working on the independent walking- he definitely can do, it just seems to be a matter of him wanting to do it. He just isn't that interested. He has started to crawl a little finally after 14 months of life! I never thought he would crawl before walking since he has been such a bottom-scooter! Anyway, here's a picture catch-up from the last few months:

Scott got this bag from some party at work. It is an awesome HUGE canvas beach bag. We thought it would be fun to put Peyton inside it and indeed, he did enjoy the ride!

Peyton with all his presents on Christmas. Thanks to everyone who sent him gifts! He loves his new toys and clothes!

We met up with Kydon and his family as well as my cousin Tyla and her husband, Joey, this weekend in Atlanta. We went to an awesome park/trail developed around a historic mill. SUCH a beautiful day! 70 Degrees and sunny!
Peyton learned how to give "kisses" and I have to say, it's one of my favorite things ever getting a slobbery kiss from him! Unfortunately, this pic also shows my "mommy bangs." Grrr. Can't wait for those to grow out. Did I also mention that Peyton is done with his helmet? Yep! See how nice his head looks now?

Stuffing his face! Waffles are another favorite
